MINI v0.5

A humors site MINI set up called the "Counter Counterfeit Commission" teaches people how to spot fake MINI's. They also invite you to submit and vote on pictures of fakes. They have accepted my old Civic. Back while I was waiting for my first MINI I attended one the the very first SoCal MINI Maniac events. As I did not have a MINI yet so I covered my civic in foam to make the shape of a MINI. As seen here:

Björn Phillipps

Monday was fun. Carly, Des, Karin, and I where hanging out talking by there apartment on Sunset. We where talking about the rain and how the roads have become chock full of pot holes. Moments later we heard the unmistakable sound of someone driving on a flat tire. As it turns out Bjorn Phillipps a tourist from Germany (or Switzerland) had driven his rental car into the aforementioned pot holes and tore a 1" hole in the tire. Pulling his car around the corner to a safe spot, he walked up to us and asked to use a mobile (Cell phone). It turns out they have AAA over there and the member numbers work over here to. The down side is the membership was in his wife's name and they would not let him use it. So then I called Dollar rent a car to get them to send someone to deal with it. They said just change the tire. I said send out someone. They said it will be a while and you have to wait there. At this point it dawned on me how silly all these phone calls where. While Björn had never changed a tire before the four of us track our cars all the time. We have a full set of power tools, Race Jacks, Stands, and gloves about 50' away. So I hung up the phone, yelled to Des that it was Pit Crew time.

We sprung into action and had bolts off, car up into the air, tire swapped with the doughnut, and torqued down. This took maybe three minutes? Roughly 1/3 the time I had already spend on the phone. Next time screw AAA, we fix this Racerfactory Style.

Worked out at the gym today, lifting weights and such. Going to hurt tomarow.... That's a good thing but also not fun.

Frtiz is at it again with STORMWATCH 9 bazillion
They keep saying it's going to rain but it's just a little cloudy. Odds are it will hold out till the weekend and rain all over that. Who says weather systems don't have a sense of humor? My E3 credentials got approved so I get to go to the best Video Game expo in the world. Luckly it's right here in LA. This year they will be unveiling not one, not two, but all 3 next gen consoles. If you where wondering yes I do qualify for credentials as my company makes game cinematics from time to time as well as game commercials.

Work is normal, ie.. stressfull, hecktick, ect.. but the show is looking good. Our trailer breaks this weekend on Constantine. I'm looking forward to seeing both the film and our trailer.

Oh and our maid maria has some time open on Wed & Friday in the morning if anyone needs a good maid on the west side of LA. Yes we have a maid and she does do a great job.

Memory

My phone has half a gig of memory, and that's only because COSTCO dosn't stock 1gb SD cards. So on one side I am pissed I had to settle for 512mb but on the other hand my phone has half a gig of memory. Most phones have like 64k, So you ask what do you need all that space for? Well I could say mp3's but I have an Ipod for that. You could say photos, but I have a Canon 300D Digital Rebel with 1.5gb for that. You could say file transfers, but I have a USB watch for that. So what is it for? It for being able to say My Phone has half a Gig of Memory.

Wierd how my mind works isn't it?

I will say this, the treo650 rocks.

Oh and I can find anything on the net, google is all kinds of good but you need socal networking skillz to make stuff happen in meatspace, luckly I gots them to :D

Drifting MINI Style

So something is amiss with my MINI's suspension. My first clue to this was a right hand turn that ended in me driving down the street backwards. I checked the basics and main parts are all still attached but something might have gotten bent. Going to take her up to Steve's for a check up.

In other news 4 point harness are a very good thing. Ok that;s not really other news but a good point to make.

Oh and Karin has a blog now.

Having to much Fun

The treo650 rocks. It's everything I wanted it to be.

Spending a lot of time at the office. Haven't much of a chance to post lately. We kind of lost at the superbowl. I say kind of because we beat there spread. We lost by 3 points. It was a good game. The commercials where not very good but the game was. The reverse of many a superbowl.

In other news I really need a hair cut. With my work hours being all the time Thom's is open I can't get over there. Need to figure something out. I am looking shaggy.

Sleep and Video games would be nice to, I have to add that to my list of things to do.

Oh and addware has started infecting firefox. Damn "ISearch".

The World

It seems kind of small and huge at the same time from the air. I'll post pics later. I should have my Treo 650 around 5pm tonight!

Karin is making Chili for the big game, We have lot's of beer, and a big TV. Things are falling into place nicely. Now if SciFi Channel just broadcast in HD....
