I had the misfortune of dining at CineSpace this weekend. The concept of Dinner and a Movie is a cool one. It's just executed badly. The place is over hyped, over priced, and just lame. The drinks are expensive by even Hollywood standards. They have a nightclub/bar attached to the place that gets going around 9:30. The problem is the dining room is 50' away. It's hard to enjoy a Black and White character driven movie when there is bass thumping so loud that the water on the table is shaking. The wait staff is inept at best, We had one dish come out to us cold, another, the special was 4x the price of the other entrees. This was not mentioned at ordering. You could order there $8 appetizer, $10 salad, $12 entree, and $7 desert for less than the cost of the 8oz fillet special. The food arrives after the film begins and the tables are at the same height as the staff so you miss parts of the film while they bring food, drinks, water to your table or any near you.
In the end the movie, "Good Night, and Good Luck" was good but I need to see it again for the parts I missed. The place is far more about Hollywood Style than Film or Food, that fact causes it to fail at both.
Do not go here:
Cinespace
6356 Hollywood Blvd.
2nd Level
Hollywood, CA 90028
http://www.cine-space.com/Just Don't. You can check out there website, it makes it seem good. But Cinespace is not good, its bad, just bad. $22 for a Martini & Malibu n' Coke.
From what I hear the Alamo Draft house does a much better job at the Dinner and a Movie concept then Cine-Space does.
The only good thing was that we where out with good friends, and good friends can make even the worst meals enjoyable.
